Session Information
Junior High/Senior High Music Students
In addition to their daily large ensemble rehearsals, students will be given the opportunity to participate in masterclasses as well as electives including Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Rhythm Techniques, Conducting, Jazz Improvisation, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Music, Musical Theater, and Voice Classes. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with the KU Music Faculty in both masterclasses and have the option of additional private instruction through the private lesson program.
Private Lessons are available for all Midwest Music Campers at an additional charge of $25 per one half hour lesson. Sign-up for this exciting option will be available on the first day of camp.
Students in the senior division will perform in a band or choir. Orchestra, jazz ensemble, chamber ensembles, or other choirs may be elected according to the student's interests, abilities, and instrument or voice. (Note: only the top 4 - 8 players on each wind instrument will perform with the orchestra).
Senior Division string performers may elect practice time or qualify for a string quartet in place of a second ensemble.
